Integrated Energy System Transition in a Disintegrating World

General Description

Twice a year, CIEP organises a training day for young professionals and other professionals who are new to the energy sector.

In many policy discussions, energy transition is usually approached sector by sector. For instance mobility, electricity generation, heating for homes and offices and industrial heat. With the focus on the 2030 policy goals of EU member states, energy system transition is no longer only about the power sector but also involves other parts of energy supply and demand. Hydrogen and electricity may play an important role in the future energy system, not only in NW Europe but also in China and elsewhere. Starting with the IEA study on hydrogen, we will explore the different or divergent future energy and climate strategies both in NW Europe and elsewhere. These are discussed against the background of growing geopolitical uncertainties.

The CIEP November 2019 Energy Training is aimed at gaining insights in this process of change with participants.
